Around the corner from my office is a liitle place called the "Olive Station", a nice place just to have lunch or do a bit of organic shopping.

Cape Town, South Easter
The South Easter is a wind system that generally blows in summer but also in winter (The Black South Easter). Now here in Muizenberg the wind is strong and constant enough to mold the shape of trees, as you can see from above photograph.
A wind is called after the direction that the wind blows FROM, so that leads me to believe that this particular tree would be relatively accurate direction pointer.
Cheers

The Cape Sands Hotel, Muizenberg
Now you can see what the the old Cape Sands hotel looks like inside, you will have to agree that the current owner needs a public flogging. How in earth can someone buy a building and let it get to this state, has the owner no dignity - I ask you (I do not think he/ she has to tell you the truth).
- Human faeces litter the floor.
- Mold ever where.
- All copper pipes have gone (pull out of the wall).
- Floors that have gone missing (certain areas have no floors).
- Broken windows ever where.
- Smells that will take decades to get rid of.
- And the list can go on but I won't.
To the current owner - "sit down in front of a mirror and look deeply, I fear what you are looking at resembles a mammal that wallows in something"

Muizenberg Cape Sands
This my friends is the old Cape Sands Hotel of Muizenberg, in it's current dilapidated state of disrepair. Two points of interest;
- It is going under the hammer on the 18th September and it is expected to get +- R15 000 000.00 to R20 000 000.00 in value (+- US$ 1 875 000.00 to US$ 2 500 000.00).
- The current own needs to strung out in public for some abuse for letting this building go to the dogs.

Muizenberg whales
My whales have been sitting outside my office window for the past week (at least), yip they have throw down anchor and are just parking off. No surfers out this morning, otherwise you would have seen how close these two species actually get, the dark water in front of the whale is normally the area where the waves break.

Cape Town Presidential Naval Review
Cape Town Presidential Naval Review is happening as we speak, the South African navy is parading it's self in front of the President "Thabo Mbeki"
We do not have the biggest navy ever, but I suppose do we really need one?
Anyways, I am out of here.

Sorry of the past couple of blogs!
I was up bright and early this morning and after the past couple of days of bad weather and all (lol), this is what the Muizenberg beach was about. It has clouded over now but hey I have the proof that the sun was out this morning.
OK, so now my apologies for the past couple of blogs, here goes the sob story;
- On Friday my wife and I where supposed to go to Victoria Falls for the weekend.
- Zambian President has past away and was lying in state in Livingstone, the trip was canceled.
- Bother.
- I had pre scheduled posts for all my blogs for the time that I was away (all the others sit on wordpress and muizenbergdaily sits on blogger/ blogspot).
- Now that I was not away, one of the biggest storms to hit Cape Town in +- 3 years arrives.
- So I go out and take loads of pictures of the waves and rough seas etc etc.
- So what I wanted to do was suspend the scheduled posts (after the posts where posted) and post the storm photographs.
- This is where things went pear shaped.
- Blogger in unexpected form decided that I could not re-schedule a post that had already been posted to another day - even when I told it not to (wordpress allows one to do this.).
- My only option was to delete the posts but I thought that would have been a waste - oh well.
- So sorry for the double posts, it was blogger/ blogspot's inability to allow me to manage my posts (scheduled or not), not me - lol.
Anyways have to go, loads of work to do.
PS I would love to compete in these theme days but have no idea of what to do - could anybody advise.
Cheers

Huge Muizenberg Wave
I fear that this image might just not show how big the wave on the horizon actually is.
Anyways sitting at my desk, i looked up and by chance saw this wave. Now if you look at the centre of the photograph on the horizon there is a distinctive white line. That my friends is a HUGE wave, now the boat on the left hand side is closer than that wave (just to give you some kind perspective), that wave is at least double the distance between me and the boat.
Anyways, I have just turn the heater on and am wishing summer was here.
Cheers
The back streets of Muizenberg
Still trying to get those photographs of Victoria Falls together, but in the mean time this photograph was taken +- 5-6 blocks back from the beach front.
Love the colours of all the building back here.
