Mother and child

Again I have been a bit lazy today, as I did not even bother to walk out the office. Just picked up the camera and zoomed - lol.

Anyways this mother and child had been standing there for +- 5 - 7 minutes waiting to get let in the door. The mother was struggling towards the end as the kid just wanted to run off - you can see this is her face.

Interesting Muizenberg

- 1742 the Het Posthuys one of the oldest buildings in South Africa was built.
- 1795 The Battle of Muizenberg was a small but significant military affair that began and ended three months later with the (first) British occupation of the Cape.
- In 1882 the railway line, which for twenty years stopped at Wynberg, was extended to Muizenberg.
- 1895 the Muizenberg Municipality was established.
- 1902 Cecil John Rhodes bought as a holiday cottage and this was where he died.
- 1910 the library opened next to the Natale Labia
- 1911 the Muizenberg Post Office opened.
- 1913 a new railway station was built in Muizenberg.
- 1920 Boyes Drive was completed.
