Muizenberg, Cape Town : Remembering you babe

At least once a week I walk past this bench and it finally hit me, Heather is missed by her family. Yes sad but she will always be remember and thought of, even by complete strangers like myself.

Interesting Muizenberg

- 1742 the Het Posthuys one of the oldest buildings in South Africa was built.
- 1795 The Battle of Muizenberg was a small but significant military affair that began and ended three months later with the (first) British occupation of the Cape.
- In 1882 the railway line, which for twenty years stopped at Wynberg, was extended to Muizenberg.
- 1895 the Muizenberg Municipality was established.
- 1902 Cecil John Rhodes bought as a holiday cottage and this was where he died.
- 1910 the library opened next to the Natale Labia
- 1911 the Muizenberg Post Office opened.
- 1913 a new railway station was built in Muizenberg.
- 1920 Boyes Drive was completed.
