Table Mountain confirmed as new Natural Wonder

Well at last it is official after months of votes scrutinizing and recounting it has finally been accepted that table Mountain is one of the new natural wonders of the world.I think as Capetonians we always knew we had something special sitting on our doorstep but for the vast majority of us we didn't know it was this special.

Interesting Muizenberg

- 1742 the Het Posthuys one of the oldest buildings in South Africa was built.
- 1795 The Battle of Muizenberg was a small but significant military affair that began and ended three months later with the (first) British occupation of the Cape.
- In 1882 the railway line, which for twenty years stopped at Wynberg, was extended to Muizenberg.
- 1895 the Muizenberg Municipality was established.
- 1902 Cecil John Rhodes bought as a holiday cottage and this was where he died.
- 1910 the library opened next to the Natale Labia
- 1911 the Muizenberg Post Office opened.
- 1913 a new railway station was built in Muizenberg.
- 1920 Boyes Drive was completed.
